Terms of Service
These terms explain how Trinity Nanny Services works with the families who look for care and the caregivers who provide it. They apply when you submit an application to us, accept a placement through us, or otherwise use our services.
We have written them in plain language on purpose. If anything here is unclear, ask us before you commit to anything.
Who we are
Trinity Nanny Services is a nanny referral and placement agency based in Gaithersburg, Maryland, serving families across the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.
We are a referral agency. We introduce families to caregivers and support that relationship, but we are not the caregiver's employer. The family and the caregiver agree their own working arrangement, and the family is responsible for the obligations that come with engaging someone to work in their home.
What we do for families
We take the time to understand what your household actually needs, then search for and screen caregivers against it. Screening covers identity, work history, references, and the checks appropriate to the role.
We present candidates we would be comfortable recommending, arrange introductions, and stay available through the trial period and beyond. We do not present a candidate we have not screened.
What we ask of caregivers
Caregivers who apply to us give accurate information about their experience, qualifications, and eligibility to work, and consent to the screening that placement requires.
We expect professional conduct in every home we introduce you to: reliability, honesty about availability, respect for the family's privacy, and reasonable notice if circumstances change.
Fees
Our fees are published on our website and are shown to you before you are asked to commit to anything. Nothing is payable simply to submit an application to us.
Where a registration or placement fee applies, we will tell you the amount, when it becomes due, and what it covers before you accept a placement. We do not add charges you have not been told about.
Payments
Placement-related payments are arranged through the agency rather than directly between a family and a caregiver, so that both sides have a clear record of what was agreed.
Ongoing wages for a placed caregiver are a matter between the family and the caregiver.
Replacement guarantee
If a placement ends within the guarantee period that applies to your registration, we will search for a replacement caregiver at no additional placement fee.
The guarantee covers one replacement search and assumes the position, hours, and expectations have not materially changed. It does not apply where the role itself has changed or where the agreed terms were not honoured.
Working arrangements
Working hours, duties, time off, and pay are agreed between the family and the caregiver, and we encourage putting them in writing at the start.
We recommend that families observe the usual federal holidays and give reasonable notice of schedule changes. Where a caregiver is expected to work into the evening, agree the finish time in advance rather than extending it on the day.
Insurance and employment obligations
Trinity Nanny Services does not provide health insurance, workers' compensation, or employment benefits to caregivers, and is not responsible for arranging them.
Tax and employment obligations arising from engaging a caregiver rest with the family and the caregiver according to their arrangement. We are glad to point you to general guidance, but we do not give tax or legal advice.
Introductions stay with us
Caregivers we introduce are introduced for the position discussed. Please do not refer a caregiver we introduced to another household, and do not re-engage them outside the agency, without speaking to us first.
This is not about restricting anyone's work. It is how a small agency is able to keep screening carefully and keep supporting placements after they start.
Cancellations and changes
You may withdraw an application at any time before a placement is accepted; just tell us.
If your needs change during a search, tell us early and we will adjust the search rather than present candidates who no longer fit.
Limits of what we can promise
We screen carefully and recommend honestly, but we cannot guarantee the outcome of any placement or the future conduct of any individual.
Families remain responsible for supervising care in their own home and for their own hiring decision.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland.
